1. Who We Are

PowerLingo is a gamified Power BI learning simulator available at powerlingo.ca. It is operated by PedagogAI, based in British Columbia, Canada.

2. What Data We Collect

PowerLingo collects minimal data:

• Progress data — your XP, streak, completed questions, and module progress are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to any server.
• License key — if you purchase Pro access, your license key is stored in localStorage on your device so the app remembers your purchase.
• No account required — we do not ask for your name, email, or any personal information to use the app.

3. Payment Processing

Pro licenses are sold through Lemon Squeezy (lemonsqueezy.com), a third-party payment processor. When you purchase a license:

• Your payment information (card number, billing address) is collected and processed by Lemon Squeezy, not by PowerLingo.
• Lemon Squeezy may collect your email address to send you a receipt and your license key.
• Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record for all purchases and is responsible for payment data security.
• We receive confirmation that a purchase occurred and the license key associated with it — nothing else.

4. Cookies & Tracking

PowerLingo does not use cookies. We do not use analytics tools, advertising pixels, or any cross-site tracking technology.

The only browser storage we use is localStorage for your progress and license key, as described above. This is not a cookie and is not transmitted to any server.

5. AI Hint Feature

When you request an AI hint during a question, the question text is sent to the Anthropic Claude API to generate a helpful hint. No personal information is included in these requests — only the question content. We do not store your hint requests. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.

6. Children's Privacy

PowerLingo is intended for users 13 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Since your progress is stored in your browser's localStorage, you are in complete control:

• To delete your progress, clear your browser's site data for powerlingo.ca (Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Site data).
• To remove your license key, use the "Remove License" option in the app's Settings tab.
• Uninstalling the app (if installed as a PWA) will also clear all local data.

8. Third-Party Services

PowerLingo loads the following third-party resources:

• Google Fonts (Inter) — loaded from fonts.googleapis.com for typography. Google may log the request. See Google's privacy policy.
• Lemon Squeezy — payment processing, as described above.
• Anthropic Claude API — AI hint generation, as described above.

We have no advertising partners and do not share data with any other third parties.

9. Your Rights (BC PIPA / Canadian Privacy Law)

As a BC-based product, PowerLingo complies with the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA, BC) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Because we collect minimal personal information, most rights requests can be satisfied by clearing your localStorage as described above.

You have the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your information
• Withdraw consent at any time

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as the product evolves. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of PowerLingo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
